We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our most requested feature of the year, just in time for the holidays! New Facebook Connect for TripIt lets you connect your TripIt account to your Facebook account, so you can automatically share your travel plans with your Facebook network. Thanks to all our Facebook fans for your patience on this one.
When you use Facebook Connect, your TripIt travel plans will show up on your Profile and in your News Feed, so your Facebook friends can see when you’re planning a trip, and also when you’re about to leave and return. This is not only fun, it’s helpful.
- Your Facebook friends can comment on your plans, so you’ll get quick travel advice from people you know and trust.
- You’ll know when you’re in the same location as someone you want to meet up with, and you can use Facebook to communicate and make plans.
- It’s easy for your friends to see where you’re going to be, and connect you with people they think you’d like to meet when you’re there.
When you connect your TripIt and Facebook accounts before Dec 31, you'll be entered into a drawing to win one of three Flip video cameras! Winners will be selected and notified on Jan 4.
One last thing we hope you enjoy: you can now sign up and sign in to TripIt with your Facebook account. (No need to remember another password!)
It’s really easy to get started, just visit www.tripit.com/uhp/facebook
Happy holidays from the team at TripIt!
"Just click the button to the right to get started." … but there's no button! Only the example screenshot.

My first trip since the launch of the TripIt FB app is coming up tomorrow. There appears to be a bug, there are five duplicates of the announcement of my trip in my FB feed.

Please make it so you can control what groups (friends only, networks, etc.) on Facebook can see TripIt plans.

I am a bit surprised to hear that the most requested feature was ... a facebook connect button?
Of all the people I know, the one thing we all agree on makes you awesome is the fact that finally somebody put some brain cells to the fact that all of these confirmation mails and such are parsable and make thus our lives so much easier (hei - even for a german travelling in Germany like me).
Now the one request I would have guessed most people would love (and pay pro for) is "now that you neatly imported most of the relevant information, how about you also let me export it for accounting later so I do not have to retype this" because that is the second part I hear from all the people I talk to.
But well, Facebook Connect it is then.
